Diabetic Thai Man Shoots Himself in the head in his hotel room.

On Wednesday Night, Police Colonel Nopadon, the new Superintendent of Pattaya Police Station along with Police Lieutenant Colonel Anan, the Investigating Officer assigned to the case, made their way to the Central Pattaya Residence in Soi Yumet, Central Pattaya to deal with a case of suspected suicide. Inside room number 402 was the body of Khun Opat aged 56. A semi-automatic handgun was near the body which is thought to have remained undiscovered for at least 2 days. A forensic doctor was called in and determined that the victim had most likely shot himself in the head, confirmed by marks on his hand and on the head injury which indicated it was a close range shot. The victim was known to be suffering from Diabetes which was backed-up by medication found in the room. In the days before his death he was known to be drinking heavily. Police believe a combination of drunkenness and concerns over his health led him to take his own life.
